Bible History is not a substitute for reading the Sacred Scriptures first hand. But a well organized text makes the systematic study of the Bible much easier. Bible History: A Textbook of the Old and New Testaments for Catholic Schools, together with its Workbook, is such a text very popular in Catholic Home Schools. Bible History by Ignatius Schuster (for upper grades) carries the recommendation of Laura Berquist as does A Child's Bible History for the lower grades.
